Food Displays
WHOA!! Food Displays
The General Audience WHOA! Food Display (previously called the Fat and Sugar Display) is designed to show people the amount of fat, sugar and sodium (or salt) found in a variety of commonly eaten foods. It is meant to build awareness around the food choices we make. With the new addition of sodium (salt) in the display, we decided to change the name. The displays new name reflects the reaction that most people have after viewing it;"WHOA!"
The Children’s WHOA! Food Display is designed to show children and their parents the amount of fat, sugar and sodium (or salt) found in a variety of foods commonly eaten by children.
Fast Food Display
The Fast Food Display is designed to raise awareness about the amount of fat, sugar and sodium found in fast food restaurant items.
The Scoop on Sodium Display
The Scoop on Sodium Display is designed to raise awareness of the amount of sodium in commonly consumed foods and the risk factors associated with excess sodium consumption. This display emphasizes how people can reduce their sodium intake at home, at the grocery store and while eating out. Food products are used as visuals and combined with salt packages that represent the total amount of sodium in each product.
The Healthy EATS Display
The Healthy EATS Display is designed to teach people about healthy eating. This display emphasizes a variety of foods from Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide that one can incorporate into a healthy diet. Food models are used as visuals to display a variety of food choices from Canada’s Food Guide. Discover some healthy foods that you may not be as familiar with such as Kefir, Quinoa, and Couscous. Two meals are also showcased to generate discussion around making healthier substitutions for meals choices.
Local Food Display Board
The Local Food Display board is designed to raise awareness about local foods and to provide ideas on how to include local food into your day. The display board includes recipes, tips for parents and ideas on how to eat with the seasons.
Re-Think Your Drink
Re-Think Your Drink display is designed to increase knowledge and awareness about the amount of sugar found in commonly consumed beverages and how it can affect people’s overall health including their dental health. The visual impact of this display will hopefully encourage people to “re-think their drink”.
