Nutrition Education and Promotion
Goal:
To increase nutrition education and promote healthy eating to students, parents, teachers and all those who have an impact on how children eat.To increase the number of Islanders whose eating habits are consistent with Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide.
- To increase the number of Islanders whose eating habits are consistent with Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide.
- To increase public awareness of the benefits of healthy eating and the health risks associated with poor eating habits.
- To increase the number of Islanders who are at a healthy weight.
- To increase the number of environments in which healthy eating is promoted.
- To increase Islander’s access to healthy eating resources.
- To increase the number of programs resources and activities that are evidence based.
